SENIOR PASTORS' UPDATE
Hi there!
At last! We are coming back to meeting TOGETHER again in ONE place, after months of being apart.
We were reminded this week of the place in the book of Acts, just before the Holy Spirit filled the disciples, that they “were gathered TOGETHER in one PLACE” (Acts 2:1).
We are so excited about meeting together in one place again - although our ‘one place’ will be 6 different campuses across 5 locations! We believe that God is doing a new thing, both in us and through us by the power of His beautiful Holy Spirit. There is something powerful about us being together physically. God could have initially sent His Spirit to the disciples when they were on their own, separated physically, each going about their daily lives, but instead He chose to do it when they were together. The Holy Spirit came when they were expectant together, praying together, in faith together, standing together, supporting each other, celebrating and rejoicing together, witnessing Jesus and feeling His presence together.
We cannot deny that being together again is going to look different. There are some restrictions in place to keep us all safe, and we are thankful for the awesome team of people who have worked so hard to keep up with and implement the regulations meticulously. However, it’s important to remember that the Holy Spirit is not limited; He is not restricted in any way, shape or form. Although we may not be able to roam around freely as we used to, He certainly does roam around freely. John 3:8 says, “The Spirit blows wherever it pleases”.
Let’s remind ourselves that while things may have changed, Jesus doesn’t change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever! His love is the same, His power is the same, His grace is the same, His provision is the same. In the same way, the Holy Spirit is the same and our Heavenly Father is the same. Lots of things have changed but the most important things remain. “These three things remain (stay constant forever): faith, hope, and love” (1 Cor 13:13).
Psalm 37:34 reminds us to “keep moving forward steadily” and that’s what we are doing as a church. We are moving forward together, steadily, step by step, but most importantly...
TOGETHER in ONE place.
Can’t wait to see you!
With much love,
Derek and Georgina
